European form high on Fenerbahce's agenda

Fenerbahce are in irresistible form in the Turkish Super Lig but need to correct their European form when they travel to Moldova to play Sheriff Tiraspol.
Fener tied a 45-year-old club record at the weekend when they won their seventh straight league game to maintain a perfect start to the season, but there is a blemish on their record and it came with a 2-1 home defeat to FC Twente in their Europa League Group H opener two week ago.
Now they must travel to the home of a club hosting their first ever game in the group stage of a UEFA competition, and Fener coach Christoph Daum is keeping his expectations in check.
"It will be a difficult match against a strong team," he said.
"If we take one point that would be nice, if we get three, tremendous. Every match you want to get something, but a win is very special.
"But you can never underestimate an opponent. Sheriff are one of the top teams in their league with some very good foreign players."
Fener threw away a late lead against Twente, conceding twice in the space of six minutes as the game moved into the final 15 minutes, and Daum wants to see more commitment from his players this time out.
"You have to play well from the first whistle to the last, and you need to find balance," he said.
"In the Twente match we didn't have the right balance and in five or six minutes we conceded two goals.
"We want to attack but we cannot forget to defend."
Daum will be without Daniel Guiza and Andre Santos through injury.
Sheriff come into the game without a win in their last five European games and as the underdog in the group.
However, they earned a creditable point in their opening match, drawing 0-0 away with Steaua Bucharest, to show they will be no pushovers.
