Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrick Helmes returned to training as he stepped up his recovery from torn cruciate knee ligaments.
The Germany striker suffered the injury while keeping fit on holiday in June and has missed the start of the Bundesliga season.
Helmes trained with the squad for much of Wednesday's session, Leverkusen reported on their official website, www.bayer04.de. "I'm building up slowly. I trained with the squad for an hour on Saturday and I'd like to start full training after the (Eintracht) Frankfurt game (on November 6)," Helmes said."My knee's fine again and I feel fully fit."
Helmes was Leverkusen's top goalscorer last term with 21 goals in his first year with the club after joining from Cologne.
Jupp Heynckes' side lead the Bundesliga on goal difference from Hamburg after 10 games of the campaign.
