Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim were one of the surprises of last season, but the Sinsheim side have since been struggling to reproduce their best form.
Hoffenheim were heavily beaten 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday and have dropped to ninth spot in the table following their run of poor form.
Playmaker Carlos Eduardo has now expressed his worries about the situation at Hoffe and has made it clear that he could leave the club is they miss out on European football.
"I'm very grateful that Hoffenheim offered me the chance to play in Europe. And I'm very proud that I've been able to give something back to the club with some good performances," said Carlos Eduardo to Welt.
"However, my future could lie elsewhere. It's almost certain that I will stay here if we qualify for European football though. I really want to play in the Europa League and I hope to do so with Hoffenheim.
