Mowbray warns Hoops will get better

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray watched his side close the gap behind Rangers at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League to eight points with a 2-0 win over Hearts then claimed his side are only going to get better.

After a frustrating first half at Celtic Park, stopper Glenn Loovens drove the home side ahead four minutes after the restart and around 60 seconds later striker Marc-Antoine Fortune slipped the ball past Jambos keeper Marian Kello for number two.

With Rangers drawing 1-1 at Motherwell, Celtic nudged closer to their Ibrox rivals and Mowbray insisted: "We have five players living in a hotel, it isn't where we want to be, it is not ideal but we will only improve from this point, I'm sure we will improve every week."

Reflecting on the victory he added: "It was a professional performance.

"Once we got the two goals, it opened the game up and we could have scored one or two more.

"But this team will only get better.

"They have been thrown together and have only had three or four training sessions.

"Some hit the ground running some take it a little bit longer

"Points will be dropped along the way and we have to keep going."
