Spanish international reminisces on Real years gone by.
On the eve of his 500th appearance for Real Madrid, Iker Casillas has told Marca he remembers almost every one of his previous 499 games.
"I remember practically every game and their final scores,” he said. “I think I would make few mistakes if asked.”
The two time FIFPro World XI ‘keeper went on to fondly remember his debut and reminisce on his younger days between the posts for los Blancos.
"My home debut was against Deportivo and we drew 1-1. I then played against Atletico Madrid,” he said, before joking, “Years have gone by and I even think I've grown taller. I used to weight 77 kg and now I weight 86. I was incapable of running and unable to reach midfield with the ball at my feet when I started playing. Wow, I feel old..."
Real travel to lowly Xerez tomorrow night hoping to make up ground on leaders Barcelona and Casillas revealed that the Merengues' goal was to be level with the Blaugrana by the time one special date rolls around.
"Our goal in La Liga is to reach the Clasico at the Bernabeu with the same points as Barcelona, because there will only be seven games left in the championship after that,” he concluded.
