Cristiano Ronaldo believes a return to Manchester United could happen in the future.
Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested he could return to Manchester United one day, despite leaving the club for Real Madrid last summer. Ronaldo spent six productive years at Old Trafford, winning three Premier League titles, the Champions League and numerous other trophies and personal honours, before moving to Madrid for a world record £80m.
The Portuguese attacker has settled well in the Spanish capital, scoring 11 goals in 13 league appearances and four in six in Europe. Last night he struck twice in quick succession to seal Madrid's 3-0 victory at bottom club Xerez.
"Of course I miss playing for Manchester United," Ronaldo told The News of the World. "I played there for six years and that's a long time.
"I am still interested in watching Manchester United and, you never know, maybe in the future I could return to play there. It's always possible."
Ronaldo has a long-term contract at his boyhood club Madrid which he has no intention of breaking, but he stressed his fondness for Sir Alex Ferguson, his former United team-mates and the club itself.
"I want to fulfil my contract here but, in the future, only God knows," Ronaldo added. "I will not say I am not happy here at Real Madrid.
"I am really happy and everyone knows this is my club but, of course, I miss Manchester United, the boss, the players, because I left family there."
