Player Ratings: Lazio 1-1 Fiorentina

The Viola salvaged a point at the death. Goal.com rates the players on show.

LAZIO

Berni: 6.5 - Deputised for the suspended Fernando Muslera and made two excellent saves on De Silvestri and Jovetic in the second half. Can’t be faulted for Fiorentina’s equalizer.
Lichtsteiner: 6.5 - The Swiss defender was a constant threat on the right flank as he was encamped in Fiorentina’s side of the field.

Stendardo: 6.5 - The big defender was calm, cool and collected at the back and made an important challenge on Marchionni in the 13th minute. He was comfortable tonight and was never really troubled until the last 15 minutes of the match.

Siviglia: 7 - The central defender gave the Biancocelesti a dream start when he neatly flicked Ledesma’s corner over Frey in the sixth minute. He also shined on the defensive side of the ball as his sliding tackle late in the first half broke up a good scoring chance.

Kolarov: 6 - The Serbian full-back usually has a license to roam forward but did not make too many of his characteristic galloping runs. Can be faulted for Fiorentina’s goal as he was held off by Jovetic.

Brocchi: 7 - He was full of running and energy and was the engine that drove Lazio forward tonight. Was given an ovation when he left the field in the 71st minute. Fiorentina owned the midfield after he was substituted.

Ledesma: 6.5 - Is back in favor under new coach Edy Reja and set up the first goal with a dangerous corner that fell to Siviglia.

Matuzalem: 6 - The temperamental midfielder had a good chance in the opening minute and saved a goal when he blocked De Silvestri’s follow up effort in the second half.

Mauri: 6 - The Italian midfielder will be ruing his one-on-one miss that could have given his side a two-goal advantage going into the half-time interval. He was substituted 15 minutes into the second half.

Rocchi: 6 - The Lazio captain worked fairly well with Floccari upfront but failed to threaten the Viola back line for long stretches of the match.

Floccari: 6.5 - The Calabrese hitman provided Mauri with a sparkling opportunity seconds before the half-time break.

Substitutions

Hitzlsperger: 6 - The German will be disappointed with the Viola’s late equaliser on his Lazio debut.

Firmani: 5.5 – Failed to shore up the midfield in Brocchi’s absence.

Biava: NA – Made a short cameo appearance.

FIORENTINA

Frey: 6.5 - The Frenchman had no chance on Siviglia’s goal and made an excellent save on Mauri to keep his side in the game. It was to be a very important stop.

De Silvestri: 7 - The former Lazio full-back was jeered by the Aquilotti faithful every time he touched the ball and almost had the last laugh but his close range header was saved by Berni.

Felipe: 6 - Did not make any glaring mistakes at the back tonight and did a solid job neutralizing Rocchi and Floccari.

Kroldrup: 6 - The Dane made a mistake by keeping Mauri onside late in the first half but was bailed out by his goalkeeper. Gave away possession in the second period a little too easily at times.

Gobbi: 6.5 - He was preferred over Pasqual tonight and Prandelli’s decision was validated when Gobbi provided the cross that led to Keirrison’s equalizer.

Donadel: 6 - The Viola hardman was embroiled in a midfield battle with Brocchi. Worked his socks off as usual but launched a couple of wild long range efforts into the stands this evening.

Bolatti: 5.5 - The Argentinian youngster failed to make any sort of impact in the match and was substituted early in the second half.

Montolivo: 6.5 - Did not offer much going forward in the first half but was inspirational in the last 20 minutes of the match.

Marchionni: 6 - The former Juve midfielder had the Viola’s best chance in the first half but will be unhappy with his weak effort.

Ljajic: 5.5 - The Serbian starlet looked overmatched in his first Serie A start and was hooked for Keirrison to start the second half. It was to be an inspired substitution by Prandelli.

Jovetic: 7 - Was employed as the lone striker this evening and was starved of service for large chunks of the match. Created a chance out of nothing in the 75th minute before he set up Keirrison for the game-tying goal.

Substitutions

Keirrison: 6.5 – Scored a real poachers goal in injury-time to salvage a point for his squad.

Babacar: 6.5 - The 16-year-old made his Serie A debut and almost scored in the 77th minute but couldn’t keep his header down.

Zanetti: 6 - Added some muscle in the midfield.
