Barcelona maintained their lead at the top of the table after beating Malaga, and Pep Guardiola was thrilled with the display.
Speaking to AS after the game, Guardiola said, "We did not change our system."
"We made some small changes. But the structure is the same.
"The important thing is that we played very well, with excellent possession and control of the ball. It was one of our better home games.
"We were far better than our last games."
Guardiola then analyzed the game in further detail, continuing, "We wanted to play in the middle, with short passes."
"The second goal was very important. Messi played in the middle to link up more with Ibrahimovic.
"Lately it seemed as though we could lose to any team. But today we showed a great level.
"I asked the referee to forgive me for applauding sarcastically when he booked Pique."
Finally, Guardiola paid tribute to Dani Alves, who returned from injury, stating, "He is a unique player."
"He always wants to play and gets upset when he can't, but he must understand that the human body has a limit. He improved every time he plays.
"His intensity forces the others to play the same way."
