Blues captain angered by City striker's comments.
Chelsea captain John Terry has hit back at Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy's comments about his alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-girlfriend of former team-mate Wayne Bridge.
Bridge had refused to shake Terry's hand prior to yesterday's 4-2 win for City at Stamford Bridge, and after the game Bellamy stuck the boot further into the disgraced former England captain.
"I know what JT is like, so nothing surprises me about him," said Bellamy, who had been seen to mouth insults as he shook Terry's hand pre-match, "I know I won't count on that guy, and I think everyone in football knows what the guy's like."
But Terry, who has remained tight-lipped since news of the alleged affair broke three weeks ago, hit back at the Welshman's comments, claiming that Bellamy's own reputation should have prevented him from speaking so candidly on the matter.
"People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones," he said, according to a report in The Times.
Bellamy himself is no stranger to controversy. He was accused - and subsequently cleared - of assaulting two women in a Cardiff nightclub, whilst
in 2007 he was involved in a confrontation with his then-Liverpool colleague John Arne Riise, in which he reportedly attacked the Norwegian defender with a golf club after a row broke out at the team's Portuguese training camp.
Terry was stripped of the England captaincy by manager Fabio Capello, who this weekend described the 28-year-old's actions as "unacceptable", and revealed that he will not return as long as the Italian is in charge. Bridge last week announced his retirement from international football, stating that his presence alongside Terry in the squad would be "divisive."
