Fifers on the spot to claim points

East Fife further eased their relegation fears with a 2-0 victory over Brechin at Bayview.
The hosts opened the scoring after just eight minutes when John Ovenstone headed home Stephen Crawford's cross from close range.
Paul McLean had a chance to level things up just before the break but his effort was well saved by Michael Brown.
Paul McManus doubled the home side's advantage from the penalty spot just after the hour mark following McLean's challenge on Lloyd Young.
Brechin had an excellent opportunity to pull a goal back 10 minutes from time when David Muir brought down Charlie King inside the area. Rory McAllister stepped up to take the kick but Brown produced a fine save to maintain a clean sheet.
