Valbuena proud of France selection
Mathieu Valbuena was pinching himself on Monday afternoon as his place in the France squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa was confirmed.
The Marseille forward retained his place in Raymond Domenech's squad for the tournament, surviving the cull as the squad was reduced from 30 to 24 for a pre-tournament camp in Tignes, which begins on Tuesday.
"I still cannot believe it," Valbuena said on his personal website, www.mathieuvalbuena.net. "I feel total happiness and a tremendous pride. Being in the France squad which will contest the World Cup, who could believe it? Not even me."
