McKinlay recovers for Morton

Morton manager Allan Moore had a scare in training ahead of the visit of Partick Thistle when full back Kevin McKinlay injured his groin.

However it appears the former Jags man will recover in time to face his old side.

But injury doubts remain over David MacGregor David O'Brien and Brian Graham.

Moore is chasing his first league win as Cappielow boss and he knows what his side need to do to secure the victory.

He said: "We had a lot of possession against Dunfermline last week without hurting them and to win against Partick we need to put them under pressure in the final third of the pitch.

"A win will come and it would be great to do it at home."

Partick welcome centre-half Willie Kinniburgh back to the squad following suspension.

But young midfielder Ryan McBeth drops out after picking up a knock in midweek.

Long-term injury victims Alan Archibald and Jackie McNamara remain on the sidelines.

Laset week Thistle beat Dundee to bounce back from their opening-day drubbing at Raith.

Firhill assistant boss Ian Maxwell said: "Everything in the world was right again after beating Dundee and to be honest I reckon we deserved to win the game based on the chances that we had.

"We need to keep the good feeling going by taking something from Morton."
