Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas has confirmed on his official Twitter page that he is set to be sidelined for a fortnight with the hamstring injury he picked up at Sunderland.
Fabregas, 23, picked up the knock deflecting Anton Ferdinand's clearance into the host's net in the 1-1 draw. Manager Arsene Wenger had previously refused to speculate about the knock but now the World Cup 2010 winner is touch and go to make a return in the clash with Chelsea on October 3.
Speaking on the social networking site, Fabregas tweeted: "Good news on my injury. I have some fluid but nothing bad in the muscle. I hope i can be playing in two weeks."
The midfielder is definitely out of tomorrow's Carling Cup derby against Tottenham Hotspur, next weekend's match with West Bromwich Albion and Champions League fixture at Partizan Belgrade. If he fails to make the Stamford Bridge meeting, he should be fit to face Birmingham City on Ocotber 16 after the international break.
