Leeds United boss Simon Grayson will assess Aidy White (back) and Leigh Bromby (ankle) before naming his team.
Paul Connolly, Fede Bessone and Kasper Schmeichel are still sidelined, while Robert Snodgrass is suspended.
Preston manager Darren Ferguson could be without defender Wayne Brown, who suffered a hamstring injury against Coventry City on Saturday.
On-loan Manchester United pair Matt James and Josh King will again miss out with ankle injuries.
MATCH PREVIEW
Having made their worst start to a season since 1923, Preston ended a four-match run of defeats with a morale-boosting win at Coventry City on Saturday.
They will be hoping that victory signals an upturn in their fortunes. North End have lost six league matches this season - more than any other Championship side - and the last four of those defeats have all been by a single goal.
Leeds, who have not lost at home to Preston for almost half a century, are fifth in the table and chasing a fifth win in seven league outings. They have kept clean sheets in their last two games and have won their last two home matches.
The Yorkshire side have also conceded four goals in the final 15 minutes of Championship games this season, which is more than any other team. Preston, meanwhile, are the only side in the division yet to score in either the first or last 15 minutes of a match.
