Braga endured another Champions League night to forget as Luiz Adriano's second-half double made it two wins out of two and helped Shakhtar Donetsk to a 3-0 win.

The Portuguese side, who were hammered 6-0 at Arsenal in their Group H opener two weeks ago, dominated the first half but failed to take the chances that came their way.

It was a different story after the break as Shakhtar's Brazilian connection put the hosts to the sword, Douglas Costa adding to his compatriot's strikes with a late penalty.

The win moved the Ukrainians level on six points with the Gunners, with Braga and Partizan Belgrade both yet to get off the mark and seemingly in a battle for the third-place Europa League spot.

Braga were the first to threaten, Moises seeing his header from Luis Aguiar's outswinging corner from the right blocked by defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy in the third minute.

Braga's Brazilian forward Alan then sent a long-range effort wide before Darijo Srna fired over the top at the other end.

The visitors were indebted to goalkeeper Andrei Pyatov in the 29th minute as he saved with his feet to keep out Salino's effort from six yards.

Silvio shot high from 20 yards before Salino put another close-range chance wide of the left post as the Portuguese side ended the first half in control.

But they found themselves behind 11 minutes into the second.

Adriano slotted Douglas' pass from the right low into the net with his right foot.

Rodrigo Lima shot wide and Paulo Cesar had an attempt from the centre of the area parried by Pyatov as Braga sought an equaliser, but instead they fell further behind in the 72nd minute.

Adriano was again on hand to apply the finish, this time finding the bottom right corner from Henrikh Mkhitaryan's ball in.

Eduardo had a chance to make it three but his header from Srna's corner was saved by Felipe.

But the Ukrainians did add another in stoppage time, Costa slotting a penalty low into the right corner after Cesar had fouled Willian.
