Falkirk v Cowdenbeath - No McManus for Bairns
Posted Saturday, October 02, 2010 by PA
Falkirk striker Tam McManus is the only absentee for their match with visitors Cowdenbeath following the knee injury he picked up in the recent Co-operative Insurance Cup tie against Hearts.
The Bairns are on a fine run of form at home having won their last four games and manager Steven Pressley is determined to make it five against a side that have made everyone sit up and take notice this season.
Pressley said, "Danny Lennon kicked things off at Cowdenbeath a couple of years ago and Jimmy Nicholl has carried that good work on and we need a win to move 3 points clear of them in the table.
"We want to make teams fearful of coming to meet us here and another win here adds to that reputation."
Cowdenbeath boss Jimmy Nicholl has defensive worries with the Joe Mbu and Dene Droudge remaining out and being joined on the sidelines by centre half John Armstrong.
Midfielder Danny Mackay and striker Marc McKenzie are also out with knocks with Nicholl advising, "We have no recognised centre backs at the moment so I have been trying a couple of things in training.
"I will not know my team until Saturday morning but whatever happens I am sure the boys will keep on surprising everyone as they keep on coming up with wins and points.
"I saw Falkirk against Hearts and I thought they were great that night so will need to dig in and see where that takes us."
