Airdrie look set to include former Airdrieonians, Hearts, Aberdeen, Queen of the South and Morton midfielder Neil MacFarlane in their squad for the visit of Stenhousemuir, as they go looking for their first home win of the season.

Striker Scott Gemmill is out with a knee injury and Rhys Devlin along with Kieran Stallard are also out through suspension to leave manager Jimmy Boyle's resources stretched thinly.

Boyle said: "We only have a small squad so when you lose three players you feel it.

"Stenhousemuir are coming here on the back of a great win over Dumbarton and looking for revenge for our win at their place earlier this season so it is good to have the experience of Neil to call on for this game."

Stenhousemuir still have a shortage of strikers with Scott Dalziell, Alex Williams and Simon Lynch all remaining out through injury.

Left-back Steven Thomson has joined Berwick Rangers on loan and manager John Coughlin has included Grant Plenderleith in his squad again after the youngster scored against Dumbarton last week.

Despite being short of forwards, the Warriors will be sent out on a revenge mission after a defeat earlier in the season, with Coughlin saying: "Airdrie caught us cold at our place and ran out 3-1 winners and I will be sending my players out to win on their patch this time.

"We have been missing our usual strikers for a while now and hit four last week so we know we can still score."
