Third-placed Ayr are looking to secure their sixth win in seven games and their fourth in a row at home when Airdrie visit.
However, they have been dealt a huge blow after the versatile Dean Keenan was injured in training.
Keenan will join Bobby Donnelly and Alastair Woodburn on the sidelines, with Somerset Park boss Brian Reid saying: "We are on a good run just now and I will be sending the players out to get something out of this game to keep us moving in the right direction."
Reid added: "Airdrie are a side that battle for everything but they have a bit of quality in their team as well, so we will have to play well to get another win."
Airdrie welcome Kieron Stallard and Rhys Devlin back from suspension.
However, the Diamonds look set to be without on-loan Dundee United midfielder Ryan McCord who has an ankle problem.
Scott Gemmill remains sidelined with a knee problem and manager Jimmy Boyle has decided against extending the trial period of midfielder Neil MacFarlane, who played in last week's win over Stenhousemuir.
Boyle said: "I have a selection problem of the right kind in defence which is great as competition for places can only be a good thing.
"Ayr are on a good run just now but we are doing okay as well, so we can travel down there and be confident about getting the three points."
