LONDON (AP)—John Terry, Ashley Cole and Gabriel Agbonlahor have been ruled out of England’s international friendly against France on Wednesday because of injury.
Aston Villa left back Stephen Warnock and Bolton center back Gary Cahill were called up late on Sunday for Chelsea defenders Terry and Cole.
Agbonlahor’s place in the squad has been filled by West Ham striker Carlton Cole, who was summoned as injury cover earlier in the day.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti says Terry injured his back in training on Saturday, while the reason for Ashley Cole’s withdrawal hasn’t been revealed by England.
Agbonlahor, who also has an unspecified injury, lasted 78 minutes of Villa’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Saturday before coming off.
