Livingston 2 - 0 Brechin City: Livi move clear after win
Posted Tuesday, February 01, 2011 by PA
Livingston extended their lead at the top of the table to four points with a 2-0 win over nine-man Brechin.
Kyle Jacobs should have opened the scoring for the home side in the 19th minute but his header from six yards flew wide.
Top scorer Iain Russell did put the hosts in front in the 25th minute with a powerful long-range effort which flew into the top corner, leaving Brechin goalkeeper Craig Nelson with no chance.
Brechin then had striker Rory McAllister sent off for a second bookable offence in the 70th minute and Gerard McLauchlan dismissed for a professional foul in the 83rd minute before Robbie Winters secured the points for Livi in the last minute with a neat finish from Bobby Barr`s cross.
