Raith Rovers 2-1 Stirling Albion - Last-gasp Raith retain league lead
Posted Saturday, February 26, 2011 by PA
John Baird netted a late winner as Raith beat Stirling 2-1 to remain three points clear at the top of the First Division.
Grant Murray nodded Allan Walker's right wing cross past Stirling keeper Scott Christie to give his side a 35th minute lead but Gordon Smith pulled Stirling level in the 53rd minute when he converted Christopher Aitken's right wing cross from 12 yards.
Douglas Hill blasted over from six yards for Raith in the 63rd minute and the game appeared to be heading for stalemate when Smith wasted a good chance for Stirling in the 81st minute, but Baird popped up two minutes later to prod Mark Campbell's knock-down into the bottom corner to secure all three points for the league-leaders.
