LONDON (AP)—Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson says Arsenal is his team’s biggest threat this season.
Although Arsenal was eliminated from the Champions League by Barcelona without having a single shot in Tuesday’s game, the Gunners are only three points behind United in the Premier League title race and have a game in hand over the leaders.
United and Arsenal also meet in the FA Cup quarterfinals on Saturday.
Ferguson says Arsenal “represent the main danger to us achieving our ambitions in a revival of the rivalry of a few years ago.”
Birmingham hosts Bolton in Saturday’s other FA Cup match. On Sunday, West Ham plays Stoke and Manchester City hosts Reading.
