Greg Stewart's second-half strike secured relegation-threatened Cowdenbeath a vital 1-0 win at Partick.
Stewart's goal came after 50 minutes when he latched onto goalkeeper David Hay's goal-kick before converting from 12 yards.
In the first half, both sides were largely limited to long-range strikes with Stewart testing Thistle goalkeeper Scott Fox from 18 yards while Hay parried Ryan McGowan's 20-yard effort.
After the goal, Beath had chances to extend their advantage with Archie Campbell missing from 12 yards before Fox did well to block Kyle Miller's close-range shot.
Partick had failed to muster much attacking threat in the second period but almost snatched a point in the 90th minute when Shaun Fraser's strike was well saved with his feet by Hay.
