SIR Alex Ferguson: FA have it in for Manchester United
ABOVE: Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United are being victimised by the FA

SIR Alex Ferguson has accused the FA of double standards and claims they are victimising Manchester United.

The Machester United boss reacted furiously in the wake of Wayne Rooney’s two-match suspension for swearing.

With Sir Alex Ferguson having being slapped with a hefty touchline ban, Rooney will join him in the stands.

He misses today’s clash with Fulham and the FA Cup semi-fi nal showdown with rivals Manchester City.

The furious Scot risked further punishment by claiming the FA have shifted the goalposts after Rooney’s outburst – because it’s United in the dock.

He said: “I don’t know if you can use that word ‘fair’ any longer. I think there’s an obvious trend at the moment – I don’t even need to say that.

“They (the FA) have their own way of doing things, and we're aware of that now. We can't do a thing. But changing tack midway through the season is the unusual thing.

"At the start of the season everyone should know where they are but that's not the case. They've changed mid-stream.

"That's the problem with the point Richard Scudamore came out with last week.

"They have yearly meetings where all the managers have to attend - the League are there with the FA, the FA disciplinary panel and the Referee's Association.

"But to do it mid-stream like this now seems a bit stupid."
