PATRICE Evra has pleaded for peace between rival fans ahead of today’s Wembley showdown.
British Transport Police are launching their biggest security operation ever, with officers on all trains heading from Manchester to London for the Manchester City - Manchester United semi-final clash.
An alcohol ban has been put in place and service stations will be monitored to try to prevent any trouble between supporters travelling by road.
Manchester United defender Patrice Evra said: “I just want to send a message to United and City fans – I hope there will be no trouble off the pitch.
“We are playing on the pitch and I know and understand the feeling in the game, but everyone should make sure that the game is all about happiness.
“I don’t want to see anything that will make anyone sad. Every Mancunian should be proud.
“United fans and City fans should be proud of the occasion.”
