Beckham will take 39th step

DAVID BECKHAM has insisted he can play on until his 39th birthday after performing a long-distance royal marathon.
Becks, 36 yesterday, played 83 minutes for the LA Galaxy in Dallas despite just returning from Friday's Royal Wedding.
And he said: "As long as I feel healthy and fit, I will continue to play. And, right now, I feel great. I feel ready to play for one, two, three more years.
"I got badly injured last year and I have been working hard to get my body back to full fitness."
Becks was subbed with seven minutes left and the score 1-1. A huge storm then held up play for an hour - and when play resumed, Galaxy lost 2-1.
