The most talked-about model of her generation, with one of the world's most eligible men on her arm, she has forged a glittering career in the US and Europe, leaving her obscure Siberian roots far behind.
Yet every week without fail, 25-year-old Irina interrupts her hectic life to call a modest one-room flat in the grim homeland outpost of Sibay to chat to an elderly lady who also knows a thing or two about conquering - and has the medals to prove it.
Galina Shaykhislamova is Irina's 87-year-old babushka, or grandmother, and a Russian heroine of the Second World War.
