Joint stand-in player/manager Brown Ferguson has been ruled out of Alloa`s Second Division play-off semi-final second leg with Annan at Recreation Park.

Ferguson has a hamstring injury while he and fellow managerial colleague Scott Walker have other concerns to deal with as they try to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

David Gormley is not eligible following a loan spell at Elgin and Mark Brown, Nathan Taggart and Ross Philp all miss out through injury.

Walker said: "The first goal in this game is crucial and I am not sure if Annan will come out and go for it or try and hold on to their lead.

"Whatever they do I am sure Harry Cairney will have them well organised but we are capable of turning things around."

Annan striker David Cox has been ruled out.

Cox has a broken bone in his foot while the club are hoping influential midfielder Bryan Gilfillan proves his fitness and takes his place in Cairney's squad as they look to defend their advantage.

Cairney said: "We are delighted to be going to Alloa with a lead and it will be a case of going up there and seeing if we can build on what we have already and get through.

"I don't think the plastic pitch will give them any great advantage as we train on a plastic pitch every week so it is simply a case of whoever is the best team will win through."
