Eto'o: Reported to be a summer target for ambitious City
Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti has dismissed reports linking Samuel Eto'o with a move to Manchester City.
Speculation had suggested that the ambitious Blues are preparing a big-money raid for the Cameroonian striker this summer.
City have booked their place in next season's UEFA Champions League and are keen to bring in players they believe will serve them well in that competition.
Eto'o, a four-time European champion, would certainly fit into that category, but Moratti insists there is no chance of Inter sanctioning a sale.
He told Sky Sport Italia: "Manchester City's bid for Eto'o? I read about it, but I also read that Inter Milan are going to Spain to buy players and they are not true.
Champions
"It doesn't hurt that someone wants to buy our players, but for the amounts being suggested there is no chance.
"I plan to keep our champions. I hope that there is no need to make sacrifices, even if all Italian clubs have to be careful now financially."
While ruling out an exit for Eto'o, Moratti has hinted that Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi and Lille's Eden Hazrard could be transfer targets for Inter.
"Rossi is very strong, but Hazard is more surprising," he said.
"My son keeps telling me we should sign Hazard and he is an interesting player, but I don't think we have ever had any contact with him."
