Injured Ayr defender Dean Keenan will sit out Brechin`s visit in the first leg of the First Division play-off final.

Forward Andy Rodgers will require a fitness test on a hamstring problem before his place in manager Brian Reid's squad can be confirmed.

Reid's side scored seven goals in their two games against Forfar in the semi-finals with the Somerset Park boss saying: "One thing that has changed recently is that our goals are coming from different players and not just Mark Roberts.

"He was the main threat for too long but now the likes of Michael Moffat, Scott McLaughlin and Alan Trouten are chipping in with goals and that makes us much more potent."

Reid added: "Defensively, we were not very strong against Forfar."

Brechin's long-term injured midfielder Charlie King is out of the trip with influential defender Gerry McLauchlan facing a fight to be fit due to a hamstring problem.

On-loan Aberdeen youngster Mitchel Megginson returns to the squad after being substituted through illness against Cowdenbeath on Saturday.

City manager Jim Weir believes his players are in for a tough test, saying: "Any side that defeats Forfar in two games by a 7-4 aggregate must be a good side.

"They have also been able to rest players as they had qualified for the play-offs early and we were not able to do that. We will need to be at our best on Wednesday night to win through."
