HARRY REDKNAPP has slammed West Ham for hosting a boozy end-of-season dinner in the wake of their relegation.

The Hammers held a glitzy £275-a-head dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Monday night.

But the event – held just 24 hours after the Irons went down – turned ugly after a confrontation between fans and players.

Harry Redknapp, who once managed the Hammers, said: “What they’re having a celebration dinner for I do not know.

“I don’t know why you’d arrange an end-of-season dinner for a team that had a chance of getting relegated, that’s my opinion.”

West Ham players Demba Ba, Danny Gabbidon and members of the youth team are alleged to have been involved in a fracas.

But they are not expected to face any disciplinary action from the club, despite police being called to the bash.

England midfielder Scott Parker picked up the Hammer of the Year award at the event but hinted in his speech he could be leaving.

Arsenal are ready to launch a £10m move for the Footballer of the Year and Parker, 30, said: “When a team gets relegated there are a lot of changes.

“But the one thing that does stay is you, the Hammers fans.”

Hammers vice-chairman Karren Brady is also alleged to have been involved in an angry confrontation with fans on a train home from Wigan on Sunday after West Ham’s 3-2 defeat at the DW Stadium sealed their fate.

Starsport understands one fan approached Brady with his CV after Avram Grant’s sacking.

And West Ham’s search for a new manager continues. Chris Hughton is the bookies’ favourite with Neil Warnock, Sam Allardyce and Alan Curbishley also in the frame.

But one of Sullivan’s former rivals has revealed he is ready to buy into the club.

Air Asia and Lotus Formula One boss Tony Fernandes lost out to Sullivan and David Gold.

“If the fans want me to get involved I will. It’s a great club and we fans have suffered too long,” Fernandes wrote on Twitter.
