Ashley will see Cheryl when he returns to his Surrey home from LA

Cheryl has never hidden that she is still in love with Ashley despite him allegedly cheating on her with a string of girls last year. She is now putting her personal life over her career for the first time since she shot to fame in 2002 when she won ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals.

Ashley's hopes are boosted by Cowell being out of her life. He had placed an element of blame on the TV mogul for Cheryl refusing to take him back.

A source close to the England star said: Ashley is ecstatic, he thinks hes almost won Cheryl round. They have talked openly about getting back.

She wants to think about getting a boyfriend and having a family while she is still young that has always been one of her main goals in life.

She felt so comfortable with Ashley and he knows that, so he thinks he is in pole position. Now Simon isn't around, he reckons hes in with his best chance ever. While Ashley admits his behaviour led to the end of the marriage, he partly blames Simon for butting into Cheryl's life.
