EN-COURAGING ... Kenny Dalglish gives Jose Enrique his official welcome to Liverpool duty yesterday
JOSE ENRIQUE aimed an amazing parting shot at Newcastle last night, accusing his former club of lacking ambition.
Liverpool's £6million new boy fears Joey Barton and more top players will soon be following him out of the exit door at St James' Park.
And he claims the players he left behind on Tyneside are nervous about what the future holds for them.
Enrique, 25, admits his heart bleeds for the Toon Army when he thinks about the way their beloved club is going.
He has linked up with his old Newcastle team-mate Andy Carroll at Anfield, while fans' favourite Kevin Nolan has been flogged off to West Ham.
The Spanish left-back predicts tough times ahead for the Geordies and said: "It is really, really hard for manager Alan Pardew.
"You want to be as high as you can in the table - but maybe Newcastle don't think the same.
"That is why they sell their best players and that is why everyone moves.
"I think Joey Barton will leave soon and, of course, Andy Carroll left in January."
Enrique is looking forward to challenging for honours with Liverpool, yet cannot help but worry about those he left behind.
He added: "I have a lot of friends in the dressing room and they are a little bit nervous. They don't know what the club is going to do.
"The dressing room at Newcastle is fantastic. It is 10 out of 10, amazing.
"But it is hard for the players when the best players leave.
"Liverpool and Newcastle fight for different things.
"Liverpool want to be in the top four and Newcastle want to stay in the division. I think that is different.
