Partick vs Queen of South preview - McNamara ponders Elliot role

Partick Thistle manager Jackie McNamara will check on new signing Christie Elliot before finalising his side for the home clash with Queen of the South.
Former Whitley bay winger Elliot appeared as a substitute on his debut against Hamilton Academicals last Saturday before heading back down south to complete his university exams.
McNamara said: "Christie did well last week when he came on, but this has been a big week for him as well in terms of his studies.
"We'll have a look at him for signs of both physical and mental tiredness before finalising the team."
Defender Willie Kinniburgh is still out with a hip problem, but Scott Robertson and Tommy Stewart are both expected to play despite carrying niggling injuries.
Queen of the South striker Kevin Smith will return to the squad following suspension as Gus McPherson chases his first league win as manager.
Smith has completed his two-game ban, leaving fellow forward Marc McCusker as the only absentee.
McPherson said: "Thistle are a bit like us in that they should have more points on board based on the performances that have been put in.
"Sometimes it's about getting points to gain confidence and then performances follow, so I would settle for a win of any scoreline in this game.
"We showed signs in our cup win over Forfar in midweek that things are coming together and we have to look to build on that."
