East Fife defender David Muir will return to contention following suspension for the home clash with Dumbarton.

Muir will be added to the squad of players that saw off Premier League side Dunfermline in the Scottish Communities Cup in midweek.

Manager John Robertson said: "It was a great result for the players and the fans in midweek, but it's back to the bread and butter stuff now and we need a win to get our league campaign firing."

Andy Cook returned from the World Student games in China earlier this week and Robertson will delay naming his side until he checks on the full-back's fitness.

Goalkeeper Mark Ridgers, David White and Scott Dalziel have been ruled out, while Stevie Campbell, Robert Ogleby and Ryan Wallace are all doubtful.

Dumbarton defender Alan Lithgow will miss out through suspension and joins the injured Ryan Borris on the sidelines.

Borris is nursing a groin strain, but manager Alan Adamson has no other new injury problems.

The Sons picked up their first point of the season last weekend against Brechin and Adamson wants his side to be more consistent.

He said: "We were well in control at Brechin and leading by two goals at half-time and then bang, bang, bang we were behind.

"The boys came back into things and got a draw, but we need to stop being such a rollercoaster.

"East Fife will be on a high after a great result against Dunfermline, but if we play like we did in the first half last week we can take something."
