Chelsea target Stevan Jovetic is set to open talks with Fiorentina over a new deal to keep him with the Italian club.
Jovetic, 21, was strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during the summer but the move never materialised after Andre Villas-Boas switched his attentions to Anderlecht forward Romelu Lukaku.
The Montenegro forward is rated one of the best young forward in Italy and Fiorentina are determined to keep him at the club.
Fiorentina's sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is now hoping that Chelsea will finally end their interest and they can strike a deal to keep Jovetic at the club for the next few years.
Corvino said: "The first contact between the two parties have been positive and there will be more negotiations over the next few months.
"Stevan Jovetic is a very important player for Fiorentina and we want him to stay with us."
