MANCHESTER CITY stars have been left "disgusted" by the vile e-mail scandal engulfing the club.
The Sun revealed how an e-mail, sent from chief executive Garry Cook's account, mocked the cancer-ridden mother of Nedum Onuoha.
The City star has made his team-mates aware of what happened and they are furious and awaiting answers from the club about the incident.
A source close to the players said: "They are angry about this. Nedum is a popular player and they are disgusted that his mother could be treated in such a way."
The e-mail was intended for City's football administrator Brian Marwood — but instead went to Dr Onuoha. Cook has insisted he never sent it, explaining to Dr Onuoha that someone must have broken into his account.
The club yesterday confirmed they have opened a "board-led review" into the scandal, with Dr Onuoha refusing to accept Cook's explanation.
In fact, she has complained to the Premier League, the FA and City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak directly.
If Cook is found to have sent the message there seems little way he can stay at the club.
