Partick Thistle vs Ayr Utd. preview - Reid waiting on Robertson

Partick striker Tommy Stewart looks set to miss the visit of Ayr.

Stewart is nursing a thigh strain and is likely to join defender Willie Kinniburgh (hip) on the sidelines as the Jags look to make it four games in a row without defeat.

Manager Jackie McNamara has warned his side to be wary of an Ayr coming out all guns blazing.

He said: "Ayr gave themselves a mountain to climb last week at Morton when they lost three goals in the first 15 minutes.

"Whilst I have put that down to a one-off, they will be determined not to repeat it so they may well come out really quickly and have us on the back foot from kick-off.`

Ross Robertson is an injury concern for Ayr. The midfielder is nursing an ankle problem and manager Brian Reid will wait until the latest possible moment before deciding whether to include the 20-year-old in his squad.

"Ross is rated as a doubt but he is young and a quick healer so I will give him plenty of time to make it," said Reid.

Former Dundee United, Aberdeen and Inverness defender Stuart Duff will make his third and final appearance as a trialist for the Honest Men.

Meanwhile, Reid is determined that there is no repeat of the crazy four-minute spell at Morton last week that cost his side three goals.

He added: "We cannot afford another bad day at the office like that one."
