Wayne Rooney: This is my best start to a season ever
He's flyingI ... Wayne Rooney has hit 10 goals for United and England already this season

Wayne Rooney is on fire. SunSport's chief football correspondent Rob Beasley met the Manchester United star ahead of tomorrow's titanic clash with Chelsea to see if he reckons he can keep it up . . .

Rob Beasley: What's the big secret behind your blistering start to the season and those back-to-back hat-tricks?

Wayne Rooney: We've slightly changed our style of play and I'm so lucky because it's mostly benefited me. It's definitely the best start to a season I've ever made goal-scoring wise.

I've never scored two hat-tricks in a row so I'm really enjoying it and, hopefully, it will continue.

I think the best goal so far was my last against Bolton. It was a great cutback by Nani and a nice finish. It's something we have been working on in training and it was great to see it come off.

RB: How about a third hat-trick then — especially against title rivals Chelsea?

WR: That would be unbelievable but I can't afford to think about that.

It's a tough enough match as it is and United winning is far more important than me trying to score another hat-trick, so that's where all my energy will be focused.

RB: But will you wind up John Terry with some banter about it before the game?

WR: Yes, we're normally both at it before a game. I remember a few years ago we were away with England and I made the mistake of telling him I'd never scored against Chelsea. JT laughed and took the Mickey. But, funnily enough, since then I've scored in nearly every game so I got my own back on him.

But there'll be no messing about during the game — a quick hello before and we'll definitely speak after.

Nothing, though, during the game. We'll be going eyeball to eyeball and I want to beat them.

RB: What is it about Chelsea that makes them such tough opponents?

WR: They've been challenging us hard for the title for the past eight years now and won it three times and I'm sure they'll be challenging again this season.

When you have a spine of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Petr Cech that's something special. They're all winners so you just build the side around them.
