Anelka: May decide to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of his current deal
Nicolas Anelka has taken no decision regarding his future, but admits he could leave Chelsea in the next 12 months.
Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas revealed last week that the French forward has indicated that he plans to leave Stamford Bridge once his current contract expires.
With his deal only set to run until the end of the season, Anelka could be heading for pastures new next summer.
The 33-year-old is no longer considered to be a regular starter by the Blues, with Villas-Boas preferring to use him from the bench.
Anelka claims he is happy with his role at the moment, justifying his decision to shun summer interest, but he has hinted that the clock is ticking on his Chelsea career.
He told the club's official website: "I am linked everywhere but, when you are linked, it doesn't mean you want to leave.
"I like Chelsea and first of all wanted to stay - that's why I am still here.
Pleased
"I will see what happens in December and, if I am still here, I will see what happens in June.
"I am happy here, I like the club, everyone here, and, after, I will see what happens. It is not only down to me.
"I have been here almost four years now and I am pleased with the way it has been. It could have been even better but I am still happy."
Chelsea worked hard on lowering the average age of their squad over the summer, and Anelka admits he is starting to feel like an elder statesman.
He added: "I feel very old. Two or three weeks ago, I went to Paris and saw two kids.
"I was with my friend and we were talking, and they didn't know I used to play for Arsenal!
"They never knew or saw videos, so I was upset and said I must be very, very old now!"
