Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has stressed the importance of taking three points at Catania on Sunday.

The Turin giants enjoyed consecutive wins before being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna in the last round and Del Piero is hoping to get back on track at the first opportunity.

"We must win at Catania to confirm the good work we have done so far," Del Piero said.

"We played to win against Bologna and we played our way and managed to put them under pressure.

"I didn't see a lack of willingness or determination from my team-mates against a team that defended very well.

"However, (Mirko) Vucinic's sending off hurt us as we had to play down to 10 men for the entire second half."

Juve will have to overcome the absence of pivotal striker Vucinic.

The Montenegrin forward, who scored in midweek, will serve a one-match ban on Sunday.

Eljero Elia is expected to make his Serie A debut this weekend and will replace Vucinic in Juve's attack.

Catania coach Vincenzo Montella wants his side to show more focus after their 3-0 defeat at Genoa in midweek.

The Sicilian outfit gave away two goals in the space of five minutes to concede their first defeat of the campaign.

"We had six minutes of amnesia and we lost," Montella said.

"We have to be more focused and determined.

"We cannot make the mistakes we made and think we will escape punishment."

Lack of goals has been Catania's main problem so far with the Sicilian outfit having found the back of the net just once.

Montella will be hoping Davide Lanzafame and Alejandro Gomez will open their goal accounts against Juve.

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of midfield pair Sergio Almiron and Mariano Izco, who missed the game at Genoa through injury.
