Sevilla vs Racing de Santander preview - Marcelino not content to rest on laurels

Sevilla coach Marcelino Garcia Toral wants his team to forget about their impressive draw against Barcelona and instead focus solely on their clash with Racing Santander in the Primera Division.

Sevilla claimed a point at the Nou Camp on Saturday in a match with an explosive ending which saw Lionel Messi miss a penalty and Frederic Kanoute and Fernando Navarro sent off in injury-time, both of whom will be suspended.

The fall-out from the game has rumbled on but Marcelino wants to put everything behind him as they look for three points against the league's bottom side at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which could see them move into the top three if the Granada v Barcelona result goes their way.

He said: "Every game is different. You play to win. We have to recover from the great effort that we had against Barcelona and focus on winning.

"Racing are a team that make things difficult, but with respect, we must add the three points."

Sevilla hope to welcome back Alvaro Negredo, who has been absent with injury.

Racing Santander coach Hector Cuper is looking for a positive response to his side's defeat by Espanyol.

Racing went down 1-0 to their Barcelona-based visitors last time out to remain bottom of the table with just four points from eight games.

Cuper's side have yet to win and have earned just one point on their travels, with the trip to their fourth-placed hosts presenting a difficult proposition.

However, Cuper is optimistic and said: "I have no doubt that we will succeed.

"We need a good result at the Sanchez Pizjuan to shore up and gain confidence.

"Defeat by Espanyol was a hard blow for us. After a defeat you cannot lose again."

Racing are set to be without Gonzalo Colsa, Kennedy Bakircioglu (Achilles), Edu Bedia (hamstring) and Lautaro Acosta, who is on loan from Sevilla.
