Daniele Arrigoni will take charge of Cesena for the first time in Sunday`s home clash with Lecce.

Arrigoni this week replaced Marco Giampaolo, who was sacked in the wake of the 2-0 defeat at Parma last weekend.

The result was Cesena's sixth loss and left them at the foot of the standings, still searching for their first win of the campaign after nine games.

The 52-year-old Arrigoni, who has plenty of experience in Italy's top flight having coached Palermo, Cagliari, Livorno and Bologna, said: "I didn't expect Cesena to be last in the table at this stage of the campaign.

"But this is the reality and we have to work hard in order to help the team climb the standings."

Cesena's main problem has been their lack of goals, with the team finding the net just three times this season.

"I want to see my players fight for every ball," Arrigoni said.

"We need to improve and show more hunger to win."

Cesena will be boosted by the return of Romanian striker Adrian Mutu this weekend.

Mutu missed his team's last three league games through suspension but will lead Cesena's attack on Sunday.

Cesena can expect no favours this weekend as Lecce boss Eusebio Di Francesco is also in urgent need of a victory.

Last weekend's 1-1 draw against Novara extended Lecce's winless run to seven games and the pressure is mounting on Di Francesco.

With only one win from their opening nine games, Lecce are down in 19th place, just two points above Cesena.

However, Di Francesco is trying to stay positive.

"There is time to make up ground," he said. "I'm not giving up.

"I'm convinced that sooner or later we will be rewarded for our efforts."
