Chelsea to revive interest in Porto star

Chelsea are set to revive their interest in Alvaro Pereira in the New Year.
Andre Villas-Boas spent the final days of the summer transfer window trying to finalise terms for the Porto star.
The Chelsea manager thought he had got his man but the Portuguese side held firm and would not let Pereira leave for Stamford Bridge.
Pereira can play on the left side of defence, as well in midfield, and it's that versatility that appeals to Chelsea.
Villas-Boas is keen on adding to his squad in the January window and believes his strong relationship with former club Porto will stand him in good stead when it comes to getting a deal done.
Uruguay international Pereira, 25, signed an extension to his contract with Porto after the move to Chelsea failed to happen. He's now contracted to the club until 2016 but Villas-Boas remains keen on him.
