Jack Wilshere has taunted Tottenham fans by betting £3000 that Arsenal will finish above their club in the Barclays Premier League this season.
The Gunners midfielder, who has been out recuperating after ankle surgery, was riled by Spurs fans on Twitter, as the Lilywhites shot ahead of the Gunners by beating Aston Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Monday night.
Harry Redknapp's men are now three points ahead of their North London arch-rivals, with a game in hand, but Wilshere has responded to taunts of superiority from Spurs fans by betting that the Gunners will have the last laugh at the end of this season.
According to reports in the Sun, the 19-year-old crowed on his Twitter account: "All Spurs fans buzzing that they are ahead of us in the league (for once). It's a marathon, not a sprint!
"I tell you what at the end of the season if Spurs finish above Arsenal I will give £3000 to charity.
"If Arsenal finish above Spurs every Spurs fan that follows me must send me a pound each and I will give it to @Jack_Marshall_ charity!
"Do we have a deal THFC fans!?", the Arsenal star gloated.
