On Santa's good list ... Mario Balotelli bought locals drinks and went to church
MARIO BALOTELLI made a last-ditch bid to get a transfer from the naughty to the nice list before Christmas.
The Manchester City striker turned up with his girlfriend for midnight mass at his local church on Christmas Eve.
After the service at St John's church in Chorlton, Manchester — the same one Roberto Mancini attended a year before — Mario then put £200 on the collection plate.
A source said: "Nobody could believe it when he walked in.
"The last thing anyone expected was a big celebrity like him turning up for the service but he was very polite and charming and didn't draw attention to himself."
The reverend was so gobsmacked that he invited Mario to join them at their drop-in Christmas dinner for the homeless on Christmas Day.
Earlier the Italian star had spent the evening at the Tudor pub in the suburb of Peel Hall, where he put a grand behind the bar.
