Doting ... Wayne Rooney with son Kai
NORMALLY if Wayne Rooney had been caught handling a pair of cups out on the town his missus would have had his guts for garters.
But this time the doting dad's scored a winner and landed in Coleen's good books.
The Manchester United striker brushed aside the day job to paint mugs for Mother's Day with his little boy Kai in a pottery shop.
The Rooneys shared quality time at the Minikin Emporium in Sale, Cheshire.
The proud parents watched as their two-year-old put his handprints on two giant coffee mugs, four teacups and three photo frames for Mum and his grandparents.
Shop owner Claire Oliver said: "Coleen has been in before and she dropped me a line to say she was coming in again on Wednesday.
"I had no idea Wayne would be turning up with her, though.
"Everyone who came into the shop or who looked in the window was doing a double-take."
As United crashed out of Europe the next day, Wayne might want to keep hold of those cups – it could be a while before he sees any more.
