JOR VERY POPULAR ... Valencia ace Jordi Alba
MANCHESTER UNITED are hot on the trail of Valencia golden boy Jordi Alba.
Boss Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to watch the Spanish left-back in recent weeks, and views him as a potential long-term replacement for Patrice Evra.
All the reports have been positive over the 23-year-old, who is rated at around £15million and has three international caps.
Yet they could face competition from neighbours City, who also checked him out in January.
Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck is set to sign his new five-year deal at the end of the season.
United are keen to sort out the future of one of their highly rated striker, 21, before he heads for Euro 2012 with England.
