Iniesta: Tito is not another Guardiola

Barcelona's Andres Iniesta has called for an end to comparisons between Pep Guardiola and incoming manager Tito Vilanova.
Vilanova was promoted from his role as assistant coach to manager of Barcelona following Pep Guardiola's announcement that he was stepping down from the position. Guardiola and Vilanova have worked together since the latter's days in charge of the Barcelona B team. The board of directors at the Catalan club are hopeful that Vilanova's appointment will ensure minimal disruption to team performances.
Since no drastic change in playing style and management is expected, comparisons have between Vilanova and his predecessor have inevitably surfaced, but Iniesta believes observers should wait to see what influence the new manager has on the team before passing judgement.
"Now it's his chance, but we cannot pretend that he is another Guardiola, each coach has his own style and characteristics," he said to La Vanguardia.
The midfielder also warned that Vilanova could require time to settle into his new role and he hopes the fans will be patient.
"We cannot expect him to repeat the treble in his first year. All players just have to be on his side, support him and help him," Iniesta stated.
