Manchester United new boy Shinji Kagawa has told manager Sir Alex Ferguson to give him a licence to thrill Old Trafford, operating 'in the hole' behind Wayne Rooney.
The Japan international's £17million move from German double winners Dortmund is expected to be rubber stamped soon as he awaits a green light for a work permit before passing a medical.
But the midfield playmaker is already planning for life in the Barclays Premier League, where he is confident he can become a success.

Licence to thrill: Shinji Kagawa wants to operate 'in the hole' for Manchester United
'I want to play (in the hole),' Kagawa told the Kyodo news agency on Wednesday.
'I feel like that's where I play my best football. I plan on working hard so I can win my place at the position.
'They're one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I was given a chance to play for them. I took a lot of things into consideration, like the fact that they've got a deep squad, their style of football and it wasn't an easy decision.
'But I wanted the challenge.'
